Some friends from Italy were visiting for a long weekend to London and after having a very long day of doing your normal tourist sightseeing stuff (Tower Bridge; London Eye; etc. etc.). We all started developing a sugar craving in the later hours of the evening and so we thought desserts were in order and we went into L’ETO in Soho which rounded up what had been a lovely day.

Centred in London, L’ETO Caffe is an excellent spot to satisfy any sugar craving you may have!

As you approach the L’ETO café you come across a mouth-watering selection of desserts that dazzles the shop window. Beautifully baked treats stacked side by side makes it hard not to deny the appeal of stepping inside into the café. The café itself is quite small which means it quite easy for long queues to form outside during peak hours. We had a relatively short wait (5 minutes) but during our stay, I did notice the queue outside becoming considerably longer, so do take that into consideration whenever you do plan a visit.

I went for chocolate fudge brownie and was pleasantly pleased with my option.  The cake was flavourful and rich in chocolate flavour, perfect for any chocolate lovers! My only critique on this dessert was the Coco Powder sprinkled on-top. The amounts used were slightly excessive and it when indulging (as quickly as I do when faced with a cake) it does soak up all the saliva in your mouth, leaving a slight irritable feeling in the mouth.

My friends got the Mango and Coconut Cake and Lemon Meringue. I had a bit to try from each and they both delicious. The Lemon Meringue particularly had a very exquisite taste.

In total, I spent just under £5 for this dessert and I would say was a reasonable price given the location and the quality of this place. Upon leaving I did find out they also do food too which I wasn’t expecting. I will be sure to try that out along with another cake…probably the Lemon Meringue!!!
