On a lookout for halal steak, my girlfriend and I came across Meathouse in King’s Cross. Located very near to the tube station, we ought to give this a try and see how this steakhouse differs from others. Halal steak places can be a rare find within the London area, mostly located within the outer parts of central London.

Starters & Drinks
For starters, we ordered Lamb Skewers as I wanted to try out the lamb. I’m not a fond eater of lamb but I thought I ought to give the lamb a try. Accompanied with mint and yoghurt sauce, I didn’t particularly like the taste of the lamb and had hoped I had chosen the chicken instead. My girlfriend, however, enjoyed it and I left her to finish off the starter. Served on a small plate, two skewers with a mix of sauce was a portion size value for its money.
For drinks, we each decided to go for something different. We ordered the Strawberry Mojito and the Strawberry Daquiri, both of which came within a few minutes. Now have a look at the colouring, isn’t that a bright vibrant strike of RED! Mojitos are normally a must for me especially when they have other flavours than the usual. This Strawberry Mojito was very refreshing and minty, I ended up buying two. Having a taste of the Daquiri, I couldn’t find any issues with that, so much so let’s say I may have had half of her drink.
Specialising in steak it would be crazy not to order one. I went ahead and ordered Chicken Steak which came with potato mash, salad and mushroom sauce. We also ordered a Chicken Burger with Chunky Chips.
Our food came very timely straight after our starter was taken away. Presented on an oval rectangular plate, the steak looked very juicy and flavoursome. The potato mash came with a barbed wire design sprinkled with coriander. Along with all this, I requested for mushroom sauce. After pouring the sauce over the steak and mash, I dug in and the food tasted great. The chicken was not dry and soft to eat. It did lack a bit of flavour, however, the sauce did make up for this. The mash was soft and tasty and worked very well with the bites of chicken.
The burger came with two pieces of chicken and salad making it somewhat a whopper of a burger. Quite juicy and tender, the burger was okay to eat, however not much different to other burger restaurants. With the option of chunky chips, my girlfriend was satisfied as she prefers this over small chips.
Meathouse provides an experience for halal steak and burgers for both chicken and meat lovers. In a central location of King’s Cross, there is a lot of attraction that can be done with customers. Food is to a good standard however there can be some improvements in the food taste. Overall, I will still give a shoutout for providing halal steak and say do give it a try and judge for yourself.
