Me and my partner hadn’t had Thai food for a while so we decided it was time (or Thaime >.<) for some! We looked around the area we were in and found one on Wellingborough Road in Northampton called the Royal Thai. We were excited to have some Thai food since and this spot looked good. It was a Sunday lunch time and luckily the place wasn’t busy at all. The interior was decorated elegantly, as it was close to Thai New Year.

We decided on Jasmine Tea for our beverage, a nice compliment to a meal. They did have appetising looking cocktails on the menu too, which have to be tried on my next visit! The tea came in a massive Pot, a generous portion. I am definitely a fan of tea with Thai food so was looking forward to it.
As we went during lunch time they had various special offers on different types of foods. There were choices for a Lunch Express Menu and a Lunch Thai Tapas Menu. After some deliberation we decided that one of us order from the Thai Tapas Menu and the other one of us pick a dish from the Thai Express Menu.
The Express Lunch had a decent variety of choices at £8.95 each. Each came with a choice of beef, chicken, tofu, prawns, pork or mixed vegetables, we chose the Beef Pad Thai. The noodles were tasty, a good mix of flavours and I would order it again if I have the chance. As for the Thai Tapas sets, they also had a few choices but we chose the Phuket Tapas Set. This included Pork Dumplings, Deep Fried Squid, Chicken Massaman served with Jasmine Rice. The sets cost £12 each and they are worth it! You get a lot of food, and the sets are a good way to try a different variety of foods. It was nice to have such a selection of different foods to try. Luckily for us the Thai Tapas set came with two Pork Dumplings and two pieces of Deep Fried Squid so me and my partner could have one each! The Curry was tasty, on the other hand it was not to spicy, so if you are looking for something extra spicy we suggest you pick something else.
Overall the experience was a good one, the service was excellent with the staff being very attentive and helpful. It wasn’t very busy here at the time we visited, we were the only customers but the food was tasty and there was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The place was nicely decorated and the waitress told us it was being decorated as it was Thai New Year. We would recommend here if you are in the area.
