Upon my visit to the lovely city of Edinburgh, my friends suggested we tried this great little bakery (pun intended) in the South of Queensferry, who she claimed was “one of the best places to Brunch in Edinburgh!”
Let’s see if she was right?!

I ordered something light this time around, as I was too hungry to wait for brunch that morning so I had already eaten breakfast at my friend’s flat. The Avacado Spinach Salmon was the choice I went for which comes with Avacado Toast, Smoked Salmon, a Poached Egg and Spinach. I have ordered this dish before at other restaurants/cafes and they always seem to skimp on either the amount of Avacado or the amount of Salmon (or even both!). But, when my plate arrived, I was pleased to see a generous amount of both toppings layered onto my piece of toast. My lack of appetite didn’t matter anymore as the ingredients for this dish tasted so fresh it went down a treat!
My friends, we equally as praising about their dishes too. One of them ordered the Smashed Avocado Salmon. I started to believe my friend’s bold claims about this place may be true!
I came to learn that The Little Bakery was renowned for their exceptional-tasting cakes, so I, of course, had to try them out.
There was so much choice at the counter and they all looked amazing, I wanted to have them all!!! Evidently, after many minutes of deliberation, I eventually settled on the Biscoff Rocky Road. I loved the cakes conflicting textures; the soft and fluffy marshmallow mixing in with tough and crunchy biscuit base, the Biscoff Rocky Road gets top marks from me.
As much I loved this cake, the sweetness does build quite fast (particularly, the Red Velvet Cookie according to my friends), so finishing it off towards the end was a challenge!
If ever in Edinburgh or if your one of the lucky ones that live there, please do check out The Little Bakery. There are a lot of dessert choices and the food was also amazing and at great value for money! I thanked my friend as her claims definitely rang true in my eyes!
